Unicharm Corporation (President & CEO: Takahisa Takahara, hereinafter: Unicharm), in collaboration with NPO Red Box Japan (Representative Director: Kanna Oguma, hereinafter: Red Box Japan), has launched the "BRIGHT FUTURE OKINAWA" project. As part of the "Sofy Anywhere" project, which promotes an environment where sanitary napkins can be obtained whenever needed, this project introduces the school sanitary napkin dispenser "School Sofy" to almost all 495 schools in Okinawa Prefecture. To commemorate this project, we are pleased to announce that a charity event was held on March 28, 2026, at AEON MALL Okinawa Rycom to dispatch "School Sofy" to 495 schools in the prefecture.

■ Background of the "BRIGHT FUTURE OKINAWA" Project
"BRIGHT FUTURE OKINAWA" is a project that aims to create a society where children in Okinawa can learn with peace of mind and grow toward the future.
In recent years, the movement to guarantee access to sanitary products from the perspective of education and health has been spreading globally, and efforts to build systems that support menstruation in society are progressing. Through the provision of sanitary products to schools, we will promote the empowerment of female students, implement "menstruation"—which has traditionally been considered a "personal issue"—into society as a "system supported by the entire local community," promote the creation of new social infrastructure to support children, and develop this as an initiative aiming to realize an international model city for women's active participation.
FC Ryukyu, which advocates the philosophy of "Making the world UMUSAN (Okinawan dialect for 'interesting') together from Okinawa!" and aims to create a society that supports children's futures, and FC Ryukyu Sakura, which advocates being a "women's team that shapes the future of Okinawa" and tackles social issues in Okinawa, have also endorsed this project. Moving forward, we aim to build a "cutting-edge model city for women's active participation" linked with the community and schools, such as by sequentially introducing the "Sofy Anywhere" project's sanitary napkin dispensers in the restrooms of FC Ryukyu and FC Ryukyu Sakura home game venues starting in April.
