As the conflict in Sudan enters its third year, children continue to pay the highest price. Between January and March 2026, at least 160 children were killed and 85 injured, a 50% increase from the same period in 2025. Notably, 78% of these casualties resulted from drone attacks. The crisis has displaced over 5 million children and left nearly half of the country's schools unusable. UNICEF estimates that 4.2 million children will suffer from acute malnutrition this year. Executive Director Catherine Russell has called for an immediate end to grave violations against children and increased international aid, as only 16% of the required $62.9 million funding has been secured.
