In May of this year, UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador MIYAVI visited Jordan, a country that has hosted many refugees, including those from Syria.
In the capital city of Amman, he listened to the voices of refugee families living in urban areas and participated in music sessions with musicians from various countries. At the Zaatari refugee camp, home to approximately 50,000 Syrian refugees, he inspected community centers and medical facilities operated with Japanese support, and interacted with children through music and soccer exchanges.
The lives, thoughts, and hopes for the future of each individual refugee, which are difficult to convey through news and statistics alone—MIYAVI will share what he saw, heard, and felt on the ground.
We will welcome Creative Director Ai Fukushima, who visited refugee camps in Bangladesh in 2022, as a guest.

*This webinar is part of Japan for UNHCR's "World Refugee Day 2026" campaign, "What If I Were You."
Through three actions—watching a movie, listening to a webinar, and sharing with someone on social media—we call for support to begin with empathizing with and imagining the reality of each individual refugee. We aim for a campaign where individual participation creates a chain reaction, connecting to the next person.
