Having spent 30 years as a pharmacist, standing by the sides of many patients in the field of home medical care, I have a deeply ingrained conviction:
**The emotional movement of being "moved" or "inspired" is the ultimate panacea.**
That conviction drove me from the medical industry into the hospitality business.
I opened the "Umiiro Terrace Atami Main Building" in 2020 and the "Bettei (Villa)" in 2023.
And now, I am taking on an even greater dream:
—The construction of a "Multi-purpose Ocean Hall & Garden" on the hills of Atami overlooking Sagami Bay, a stage for celebrating life's milestones and taking the first step toward one's dreams.
■ The background behind wanting to realize this dream
Before running a hospitality business, I operated a home medical support pharmacy. While I found fulfillment in working closely with individuals, the daily reality of saying goodbye to many patients with no hope of recovery began to take a heavy toll on my heart.
Seeking a place to find solace, I began visiting Atami every weekend. One day, I decided to buy a villa, which became our current main building. The moment I opened the front door, I was captivated by the view of Sagami Bay spreading out before me.

Feeling my own spirits lift, I brought patients I had cared for in my home medical practice to the villa.
Then—
The two of them, who often quarreled, shared smiles and conversation while watching the sunrise, and they returned home in high spirits.
At that moment, I was convinced:

At the same time, I felt that such a wonderful place should not be kept to myself. I wanted to share this inspiration with more people.
That thought became the driving force behind my move into operating lodging facilities.

■ Initiatives to date — The three "stages": Main Building, Bettei, and New Building
[2020] Opening of the Main Building
—A private rental house overlooking Sagami Bay. With its natural hot springs, panoramic ocean views, and sunrises over the horizon, we have provided healing and vitality to our guests.
[2023] Opening of the Bettei
—A luxury villa on a 500-tsubo (approx. 1,650 sqm) property equipped with a pool, sauna, and natural hot springs. It accommodates large groups and is a lively place where laughter never ceases.
[End of 2025] Crowdfunding for the new building & garden
—We received support from 135 people, raising 6.36 million yen against a target of 3 million yen (a 212% achievement rate).
The Main Building is a place for "healing."
The Bettei is a place for "joy and fun."
The New Building will be a place to "make dreams come true."
Healing → Joy → A stage to make dreams come true
The new building is the "culmination project of Umiiro Terrace Atami."

What I want to cherish in this place is not just "healing" or "fun times."
I believe that when people are emotionally moved, they regain their true strength and can move forward. And when people are working toward their dreams and goals, they are at their most energetic and radiant.
Until now, Umiiro Terrace Atami has been used by many as a place to deliver "healing" and "joy."
But what lies beyond that?
It is the "moment when you take control of your own life with your own will."
I want to create a place that generates the "trigger" to take that step.
That is why I am so committed to the word "dream."
This is not just a place to stay, but a place where life begins to move.

We are proceeding with the construction of the "Ocean Hall & Garden to Make Dreams Come True," aiming for an opening in the fall of 2026.
In this place, we envision diverse uses such as:
● Weddings and Vow Renewals: Making life's greatest vows against the backdrop of the sea and nature.
● Family Celebrations: Celebrating important milestones like anniversaries, birthdays, and new beginnings with the whole family.
● Presentations, Entrepreneurship, and Retreats: As a stage to take the next step.
● Art, Music, and Solo Exhibitions: As a place of co-creation where creativity and inspiration are born.
The first step is to "have a dream."
Then, put that dream into words and share it with the world.

Even now that my children are adults, the scenery and smiles from our travels together float in my mind like a movie.
