About Umenoyado Spring Brewery Festival 2026

Umenoyado Brewery, with over 130 years of history in Nara, the birthplace of sake, will hold the "Umenoyado Spring Brewery Festival 2026" on May 16th and 17th. This is an annual event held every autumn and spring, and this spring marks its 4th time. At the venue, you can enjoy a diverse lineup unique to the brewery, including sake sold by the glass that can only be tasted during these two days, limited edition sake, and original cocktails made with the popular "Aragoshi Series." For venue events, a dynamic "bonito straw grilling" will be demonstrated on the 16th, and on the 17th, exquisite lean diced steak from the phantom "Mahoroba Akaushi" beef, of which there are only about 30 heads nationwide, will be demonstrated and sold.
In addition, there will be many activities for both children and adults to enjoy, such as gourmet food trucks and entertainment corners, ensuring that all visitors can experience the "Exciting Brewery" theme that Umenoyado Brewery aims for.

Umenoyado Brewery's Japanese sake will be served by the glass.
This time's highlight is a three-glass set that includes "Katsuragi Junmai Daiginjo," which was served at the Japan-U.S. summit lunch meeting, as well as "Katsuragi Junmai Daiginjo Nama-zake," which can only be enjoyed during the two days of the Spring Brewery Festival, and "Aragoshi Hinohikari," a cloudy sake made with Hinohikari rice that has been coarsely filtered. Please enjoy the fresh nama-zake of Junmai Daiginjo and the sweet and sour cloudy sake, which can only be tasted during these two days of the brewery festival.

A special Junmai Ginjo born from the "Wakuwaku Sake Experience Lab" project, where fans co-create their ideal Japanese sake, will be sold as a limited edition sake for the Spring Brewery Festival.
In response to fans' requests for "a light, elegant, and refreshing Junmai Ginjo with an alcohol content of 13%," it was crafted using 100% "Yamada Nishiki," known as the king of sake rice. You can enjoy a fruity aroma, a light refreshing sensation that spreads the moment it touches your palate, along with a soft rice sweetness and rich umami.
