The total beauty company uka (@instauka, @ukacojp, @ukatokyo) is pleased to announce the renewal of our staff-performed 'Deep Care Head Spa' starting Friday, May 1st.
'Those who are good at shampooing are also good at cutting.'
Starting with these words from our predecessor, uka has continuously refined its shampooing techniques. We do not treat the time spent facing a customer's scalp as a mere process. We find value in it and have sublimated it into a technique—that is the uka head spa. Because we touch scalps every day, listen to concerns, and observe changes, we know 'what is needed.' Because we have the technique, the products shine. Because we have the knowledge, our proposals carry weight.
uka's 5-step approach to scalp care—'① Remove → ② Wash → ③ Moisturize (Scalp) → ④ Moisturize (Hair) → ⑤ Feed'—was born from the actual work in our salons. It is not someone's abstract theory, but a methodology formed by the accumulation of time spent facing the scalps of our customers.
- Kiho Watanabe, Representative of uka
Scalps are more delicate than we think. Stress from daily life, including diet, lifestyle, and lack of sleep, takes a toll on the scalp. Concerns like hair loss and thinning are now common not just in men but also in adult women. Furthermore, damage to the hair progresses due to coloring, perms, hair dryers, and ultraviolet rays.
Just like skin, the scalp undergoes a turnover cycle of approximately 28 days. To improve scalp and hair concerns and lead them to a healthy state, care is needed to maintain this beautiful 28-day cycle. In addition to proper home care, professional care is vital because it involves areas difficult for you to see yourself. Beautiful hair grows from a beautiful scalp, making your every day more beautiful. We invite you to try uka's head therapy.
### uka's Deep Care Method
Because muscles, blood flow, scalp, and hair are all connected, we apply our hands in order starting from the top of the head.
**Method 01: Diagnosis & Preparation** Content: Counseling (Interview, Visual, Palpation), Brushing. Before the treatment, we first understand the scalp's condition. We listen to concerns during counseling and confirm the scalp's feel through brushing. Kuromoji Mist is used to steady the breath and prepare the body for the procedure.
**Method 02: Flowing** Content: Decollete care, Suboccipital muscle relaxation, Lymphatic drainage, Ear massage, Scalp massage. Once muscles are relaxed, we move the stagnant flow. From the decollete to the back of the head, lymph nodes, around the ears, and then to the scalp. By creating a flow from downstream to upstream, the scalp becomes ready to 'receive.'
**Method 03: Removing & Washing** Content: Scalp cleansing (using Kenzan), Shampoo. A scalp with active circulation allows dirt to float easily. Scalp cleansing and shampooing are performed at this timing. Using the Kenzan brush, we float the sebum deep inside the pores and wash it away carefully. This sequence—softening before washing—is meaningful.
**Method 04: Moisturizing (Scalp & Hair)** Content: Anti-Itch Mask (Steam), Treatment. Masks are applied with steam to clean scalps for deep moisturizing. Hair is repaired with a treatment.
**Method 05: Feeding** Content: Scalp Serum, Tapping (Massage). Nutrients are delivered to the clean scalp using a scalp serum to finish the process. Nutrients reach their destination because they are introduced after circulation has been improved.
**Method 06: Adjusting** Content: Shoulder massage, Finishing. Finally, a light massage around the shoulders adjusts the overall circulation. This ensures the flow generated during the treatment reaches the entire body. This is not the end, but the beginning of the body's self-adjusting time.
### uka Head Spa Menu
uka's head spa is designed to 'create circulation before adjusting.' Because muscles, blood flow, scalp, and hair are all connected, we apply our hands sequentially from the crown. Instead of forcing an adjustment, the treatment serves as a catalyst for the body to start adjusting itself.
**Deep Care Head Spa** Personal care based on AI scalp camera diagnosis and counseling. For those who want to address hair loss, thinning, and scalp environment concerns fundamentally.
**Courses:** - Total Care (90–120 minutes) - Point Care: Scalp Reset (60–90 minutes)
