The UCC Coffee Museum (Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture), Japan's only specialized coffee museum*1, will reopen on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, after a 6-year renovation. Admission will be by reservation only, with bookings opening on a dedicated website from noon on Friday, May 15, 2026.

The 'UCC Coffee Museum' was born in Kobe, the birthplace of UCC, on October 1, 1987 (Coffee Day*2), from the passionate desire of UCC Group founder Tadao Ueshima to 'convey the wonder of coffee to as many people as possible.' As Japan's only specialized coffee museum*1, covering a wide range of coffee-related information, it has welcomed over 1.5 million visitors from Japan and abroad for more than 35 years, introducing the history and culture of coffee, as well as its diverse and profound charms. The museum closed in March 2020 due to the spread of the new coronavirus and has since welcomed visitors by reservation only for seminars and other limited events since March 2021.
This renovation aimed at the inheritance, evolution, and creation of coffee knowledge, involving construction and refurbishment of the building structure, interior, and exterior. In addition to introducing all information related to coffee, such as its origin, cultivation, appraisal, roasting, extraction, and culture, which were existing exhibits, a new 'Experiential Lab to Understand the Science and Future of Coffee' has been established. Furthermore, a rich variety of diverse coffee experiential content, from premium coffee experiences to 3D latte art enjoyable by children, has been prepared. Under the concept of a 'coffee theme park,' coffee fans, as well as those who do not usually drink coffee and children, can experience mechanisms and content that allow them to learn and enjoy. The exterior design has also been evolved to welcome many coffee-loving visitors with a warm atmosphere. In addition, a training area has been newly established to utilize the museum as a place for human resource development within the UCC Group.
