Uber Japan, Inc. (hereinafter "Uber Japan") will significantly expand its instant delivery service "Courier" (hereinafter "Courier") from the current 22 prefectures to all 47 prefectures nationwide on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Furthermore, in addition to bicycles and motorcycles (2-wheel vehicles), delivery using small vans (4-wheel vehicles) will newly commence nationwide. The size and weight of deliverable items*1, as well as the variety, will expand, enabling delivery to areas within a maximum straight-line distance of 25km (within a 25km radius)*2 from the shipping point.

Courier is a service that allows customers to have items delivered instantly via the "Uber" app, utilizing Uber Eats' delivery network. We will deliver a new logistics option that transcends the boundaries of individuals and businesses to people nationwide, serving as an accessible tool to solve everyday inconveniences and as a reliable delivery infrastructure for small and medium-sized enterprises and stores.

◼︎ Features of the "Courier" Service, Differentiated from Traditional Parcel Delivery

Unlike traditional parcel delivery, which involves collecting, sorting, and delivering items the next day or later, Courier utilizes Uber's matching technology for "1-to-1 direct instant delivery." Therefore, it possesses the following features not found in previous delivery services:

No delivery slips required (completed via smartphone): No troublesome preparation such as writing addresses or printing and attaching delivery slips to boxes is necessary. Everything is completed by inputting information within the app.

Instant delivery in as little as tens of minutes, without passing through distribution hubs: Since there are no distribution hubs, delivery partners head directly to the destination immediately after receiving the package.

Real-time package tracking: Both the sender and receiver can track the "current location of the package" on a map in real-time via the app or website. Additionally, direct chat and calls with the delivery partner are possible within the app if needed.
