Uber Eats Launches Services in Karuizawa Town, Nagano Prefecture and Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture

Uber Eats Japan GK (hereinafter "Uber Eats") will begin offering its delivery service on Monday, June 15, 2026, in Karuizawa Town, Nagano Prefecture, and Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture. By expanding into these premier resort destinations, Uber Eats aims to improve daily convenience for local residents and provide tourists with a new way to enjoy regional cuisine. Karuizawa Town in Nagano Prefecture and Ito City in Shizuoka Prefecture are renowned domestic resort areas attracting numerous visitors. In recent years, they have also become popular destinations for relocation. Due to their widespread residential and vacation home developments, increased transportation demand during peak tourist seasons, and challenges related to mobility for aging populations, there is a growing need for improved access to food and shopping. In Karuizawa, Uber Eats will enhance convenience for residents in this nationally recognized summer retreat and vacation home area. In Ito, the service will support daily life in an aging community, offering tailored value based on each region’s unique characteristics.
