Kodomo no Daigaku (Children's University) held at Shimane Prefectural University Matsue Campus on March 28th (Sat) - March 29th (Sun)!

This university's four departments' faculty members utilized their expertise to conduct a two-day program designed to foster children's learning. Approximately 80 parents and children participated in programs such as LEGO programming, crafts and games to learn the fun of science education, awareness panels on the foster parent system, and a toy square, as well as a craft square by parent-child student circles, enjoying a fun time with the students. Additionally, high school students participated as staff alongside university students through 'Oshi Pro' by the Shimane Prefectural Board of Education's University-High School Collaboration Promoter, providing an experiential learning opportunity about this university. There were many booths, and although the ages of the children I brought varied, everyone had fun! ・The content was, of course, exciting for children, but the way the university students interacted with the children was wonderful! The seniors were good at interacting with children, naturally engaging children who were restless, and easing their tension by speaking brightly and with a smile, which was very educational.
