Crepity Inc. (Headquarters: Tokyo, CEO: Katsuyuki Ikumo, hereinafter Crepity), which operates the study abroad program 'U-GAKU', will hold a 'Social Issue Problem-Solving Internship' in Cebu, Philippines, from August 9 (Sun) to August 20 (Thu), 2026. This program received high praise last summer from participants who noted that they 'acquired not only language skills but also the ability to discover problems.' For summer 2026, we aim to further strengthen collaboration with local entrepreneurs to help students acquire even more practical business skills.

〇 Background and Purpose of the Program In today's rapidly changing world, the ability to touch 'primary information'—which cannot be obtained just from the Internet—and discover problems on one's own is highly demanded. U-GAKU's internship goes beyond mere sightseeing or language study. Experiencing the heat of the Philippines, the current reality of the slums, and the values of the local people—while building a business plan in English—provides an original experience that transcends the typical 'Gakuchika' (student experiences used for job hunting) and serves as a guiding compass for the participants' lives.

〇 The 3 Pillars of the Program (1) Business Planning Project Over 10 days, participants will take on the challenge of building a business themed around local social issues. They will identify problems through fieldwork in slums and orphanages and market research, and brush up their plans while receiving feedback from mentors (entrepreneurs and working professionals). On the final day, they will present their ideas to local entrepreneurs and receive evaluations from a practical business perspective.

(2) Fusion of Language and Practice We focus on practical learning emphasizing 'English for use' rather than desk-based study. Participants will acquire vocabulary and presentation skills in small-group lessons and conduct English interviews at local markets and other locations. Through practice, they will enhance their communication skills and proactivity.

(3) Cross-Cultural Understanding and Refreshment Participants will deepen their cross-cultural understanding through experiences unique to Cebu. Through activities such as whale shark watching and island hopping, we also aim to build relationships among participants.

〇 About 'U-GAKU' ◆ Overview With the mission of 'Knowing your true self and living the life you want to live,' U-GAKU supports not only the improvement of English skills but also English learning and setting future life goals through two lessons: 'U-ENGLISH LESSON' and 'U-LIFE LESSON', dedicating itself to maximizing the results achieved through the program. We also provide a place for encounters and interactions with diverse peers of various ages and nationalities, supporting their challenge to steer towards the life they want to live.

◆ U-GAKU's Commitment To thoroughly address the latent needs of participants who feel 'I want to change something about myself in my current life,' U-GAKU directly operates its study abroad programs in an industry full of intermediaries. This allows us to take responsibility and provide opportunities that trigger change not only before but also during the study abroad experience. By directly engaging with participants, we enable personalized programs and respond to changes in their needs and values during their stay. We provide environments and programs where participants can pour out the deep-seated voices of their hearts that they might otherwise hold in due to embarrassment or guilt toward those close to them. By providing opportunities to face one's own heart again and express it externally, we aim to lighten their hearts and serve as a catalyst for moving forward in life. We hope this opportunity triggers a change in their values or how they view the world around them, propelling their lives one step forward.
