Crepity Inc. (Headquarters: Tokyo, Representative Director: Katsuyuki Ikugumo, hereinafter referred to as Crepity) is pleased to announce that its study abroad program "U-GAKU" has surpassed 1,000 cumulative participants across both its domestic and international programs.
Background to Exceeding 1,000 Cumulative Participants
U-GAKU was launched amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, a time when approximately 98% of overseas study opportunities were lost. Responding to the voices of students who wanted to study abroad but could no longer do so, the program began with the aim of regaining the study abroad experience by developing directly managed bases in environments where students could feel a different culture, both domestically and internationally.
Initially, the primary objective was to "regain lost study abroad opportunities." However, through repeated consultations, it became clear that the fundamental needs of participants extended beyond mere language acquisition to a desire to "change themselves" and "live a better life." It is in response to these aspirations that we have now reached the significant milestone of 1,000 cumulative participants.
In particular, learning opportunities that combine domestic and international study are spreading as a new format, moving away from the traditional "one-time study abroad" to a model of gaining experience multiple times and in stages.
U-GAKU will continue to provide learning opportunities that span both domestic and international settings, catering to diverse needs. We will also promote an environment where more people can take on challenges by designing flexible programs tailored to the goals and circumstances of each participant.
