Since April, BS TV Tokyo has been broadcasting a variety of programs that combine television and YouTube under the title "Mazekoze Friday" (short for "MazeFura"), which airs every Friday at midnight. The first installment was "The Connoisseur's Spring Roll ~A Supreme Single Served with Headphones~", and the second was "Iwai's Fried Rice Way ~Yuki and Yuuki's Chinese Journey~".

This time, the third installment of "Mazekoze Friday" will deliver horror content! Starting May 15th (Friday) at midnight, "Kaiiken no Yabasugiru Yoru ~Terrifying Confessions from Eyewitnesses~" will be broadcast. Kaiiken is a three-member ghost story unit consisting of Yatsui Ichiro (Elecom), who is also active as a comedian and DJ; Toshiyuki Tanaka, who boasts numerous awards at ghost story grand prix events and has appeared on "Crazy Journey" (TBS); and Yasuhisa Hayase (Toshi Boys), who also has a history of winning ghost story grand prix events and works as a broadcast writer. The total YouTube views of each member's channel have reached 250 million (※1), but this will be Kaiiken's first video adaptation and first dedicated program, as their activities have primarily centered around events. The program is a terrifying horror talk variety show where Kaiiken members invite guests such as active funeral directors, nurses, and former bookstore clerks to talk about their "most terrifying experiences" and get to the bottom of the truth. You're sure to be thrilled and engrossed by the terrifying experiences shared by the guests! Furthermore, original YouTube spin-offs of the program are scheduled to be distributed after each episode! More episodes will be shared, including personal experiences from the three Kaiiken members and cursed objects with stories.

Cast Comments

Yatsui Ichiro (Elecom)

"Last year, I toured 47 prefectures doing live shows, and I thought, 'It would be great if we could have a TV show next,' so my dream came true! The period from the decision to the recording was incredibly short; it felt like we finished filming while I was still thinking, 'Are we really doing this?' I believe we were able to fully showcase the charm of the strange. We were very serious about it. You'll see never-before-seen footage and hear stories you've never heard before. I myself have never seen such clear psychic photos! Please look forward to it!"

Toshiyuki Tanaka

"I realized Kaiiken's potential is bottomless. I'm grateful to the person who planned this. It's a different kind of storytelling and cross-talk than our live shows... It's packed with new charms of Kaiiken. We went into the first recording at full throttle, and as a result, the program leaned heavily towards 'horror' rather than variety elements. We ourselves brought in footage and cursed objects, but above all, the guests' footage and stories were truly terrifying... The real ghost stories from the set are the biggest highlight."

Yasuhisa Hayase (Toshi Boys)

"Since I also work as a TV producer and writer, I've always thought that eventually, it would become a TV show. I'm happy that what I had in my mind three years ago has taken shape. I think directly interviewing eyewitnesses and being able to do Q&A is a new style. Until now, it was often just listening to stories and that was it. Recent occult programs tend to be seen as fake-first, but the stories dealt with in this program come with evidence that makes you think, 'They might actually exist.' Horror fans are sure to think, 'An interesting program is back!' Please watch it!"
