【Habatake! Idol Fes Summer Festival】Official Live Report: TV Osaka Goes Off-Site, Hosting a Live Concert at a Former Shipyard Site?! Simultaneous Idol Photo Sessions Push the Venue’s Energy to MAX!

The idol event 'Habatake! Idol Fes Summer Festival,' hosted by TV Osaka, was held on July 11 at Creative Center Osaka (a former shipyard site).

Affectionately known as 'Habafes,' this event aims to launch Kansai-based idols onto the national stage, linked with the terrestrial TV program 'Habatake! Idol Fes' (aired late Wednesday nights). Previously held at TV Osaka's 1st-floor hall, this year marked the first time the event moved off-site. Seventeen groups performed live, participated in signature rivalry segments, cross-agency collaboration performances, and photo sessions in yukata and swimsuits.

Live performances kicked off with Ocha Mental☆Party, known for their perfect attendance at 'Habafes.' They energized the crowd with their workout-promoting song 'Let’s Kintore,' expressing joy at performing outside TV Osaka: 'Today’s event feels so hot and summery—I’m having a blast!'

Super☆NOVA24’ heated up the venue with emotionally charged songs like 'Destination.' The finale was delivered by Itsuka no Yoru ni Bokutachi ga,. With their falsetto-heavy, quirky musical style and the four members’ diverse and advanced vocal skills, they created a one-of-a-kind atmosphere.

In the yukata cuteness competition corner, the 'I’m the Cutest! Cute Lines in Yukata!' segment featured idols delivering summer festival-themed lines. Aozorawo Kimini・Runa said, 'Wanna go to the fireworks festival together? Would ya?' in her native Saga dialect. Osaka 24-Ku Girls・Fukushima Reina involved MC announcer Seiji Fukatani, saying, 'I’m so happy we came to the fireworks together today—next year, let’s come just the two of us,' sparking cheers from fans.

In the group battle for TV Osaka’s official merchandise, the Takorukun bag, three members from each group competed in the 'If You Pop It, You Lose! Fan-Carrying Watermelon Balloon Game,' where they carried watermelon-patterned balloons on pushpin-equipped fans. While Good Crew dramatically popped their balloon, Ocha Mental☆Party completed a smooth relay, finishing with an impressive time of 11.76 seconds. But Sakura Yamakawa shocked everyone by requesting, 'I want to pop it too!'—then proudly popping the balloon herself and striking a victory pose.

Between segments, idols shared surprising personal stories and showcased hidden talents.

Fille mimi’s Kaminagi Koame shared how her grandmother watched the May 'Habafes' episode of 'Habatake! Idol Fes' and even encouraged her friends at a daycare center to follow the event’s official X account. Sakumaru. from Itsuka no Yoru ni Bokutachi ga, declared, 'I can give anyone a name ending with “. (Maru).”' He renamed announcer Fukatani as 'Funimaru.' and introduced a self-introduction pose involving making a big and small 'maru' with his hands. When Fukatani cheerfully responded, 'Big maru, small maru, Funimaru.!' the crowd erupted in cheers, and he laughed shyly, 'I’m a father of three, you know.'

The live performance finale featured the special unit Powerful Baby, made up of three petite members: Tohyama Rinka (Ocha Mental☆Party), Hoshimiya Yurika (Super Puaaar!!), and Arisu (Uchuu∞Planetxea). Dressed in black punk-style outfits, they performed a collaborative cover of Momoiro Clover Z’s 'Saraba, Itoshiki Kanashimitachi yo,' flawlessly switching vocal parts and dancing in tight sync with small side-to-side movements. Tohyama said, 'I got so much inspiration,' Hoshimiya said, 'I was nervous with so many people watching,' and Arisu said, 'I’m usually surrounded by taller people, so I felt safe.'

The outdoor area was also bustling with various activities. At the yukata photo session, idols struck elegant poses for fans with cameras. At the swimsuit photo session, Yumeno Kirari (Watts◎Circle) and Fujimiya Yuna (Ocha Mental☆Party) wore white bikinis, radiating fresh charm. Food stalls offered yakisoba, karaage, shaved ice, cream soda, as well as games like shooting galleries and super ball scooping. Idols worked as vendors, played games with fans, and enjoyed festival food, creating a vibrant summer festival atmosphere.

When interviewed about the event, Nozomi of Uchuu∞Planetxea said, 'I loved summer festivals as a kid and went to them often. But for the past year since starting idol activities, my holidays have been filled with live events, so I couldn’t go. Today feels like a real summer festival. I enjoyed the shooting gallery and super ball scooping with fans, and ate yakisoba, karaage, and fries. I had so much fun!'
