Good-sized Bass Caught One After Another in Gifu Prefecture's Gosan River in Early Summer!

The "Gosan River" is a major field for shore bass fishing in the Chubu region. It features well-maintained banks, good footing, and a dense population of bass. Free parking is also available around the fishing area, making access by car excellent. It is also a place of relaxation for anglers, with many people visiting from early morning even on weekdays.

In late May, two bass fishermen visited this popular spot. Kyosuke Umeda, a resident of Fukuoka, makes his first appearance on the program. His nickname is "Umekyo." He is an expert bass angler whose home ground is the major field "Onga River" in Kyushu.

The other is Masai Nakagawa, a resident of Aichi Prefecture, who usually works as a fishing guide on the Nagara River. He is a young angler whose home grounds are the Gosan River and Oe River.

Nakagawa, who is familiar with the Gosan River, said, "At this time of year in the Gosan River, not only the number but also the size improves. You can catch bass over 40 cm, and some around 50 cm class," raising expectations. On the other hand, Umeda, who hasn't fished in the Gosan River for a while, seemed a little anxious, saying, "I came here about 5 years ago, but I don't have many good memories..."

Under the guidance of Nakagawa, who knows the Gosan River well, they decided to start fishing from the evening.

First, the two carefully searched the bank with worm-type lures. However, there was no reaction.

The two split up and searched for bass while moving between spots. Afterwards, Umeda entered a spot under a bridge. He switched from a worm to a spinnerbait and tried a reeling technique... and got a bite!

He caught the target bass, a nice size of about 42 cm.

Umeda couldn't help but give a fist pump, exclaiming "Yoshhhaaa!!" at the immediate good catch. Meanwhile, Nakagawa, who hadn't had any bites yet, moved to a new spot and dropped his lure into the inflow of a narrow waterway. Then, he got a hit!

The bass thrashed on the surface; this one also looked like a good size. However, at the moment of lifting it out, it was unfortunately unhooked. Nakagawa instinctively collapsed on the ground. With lingering regret, the first day ended here.

Second day. Umeda returned to worm fishing, aiming for larger sizes. Meanwhile, Nakagawa, eager for revenge, moved through spots at a good tempo, changing lures. Will they be able to catch a magnificent bass?
