The immersive horror exhibition, '1999 Exhibition - Memories of a Day That Never Was,' which traces the prophesied 'end of the world' guided by a 'doomsday girl,' will be held from Saturday, July 11, 2026, to Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Taniguchi Etsu Building No. 2 in Honmachi, Osaka!

This exhibition is an immersive horror experience that utilizes space, visuals, and sound, based on the theme of 'the end of the world.' It is planned by 'Bermuda 3,' a newly formed horror creator unit consisting of three acclaimed individuals: Sesuji, a popular horror novelist with over 1.5 million copies of his books sold, including 'About a Certain Place in the Kinki Region'; Naoko Sato, scriptwriter of the cult-favorite horror game 'SIREN'; and Masaki Nishiyama, an up-and-coming young horror film director. Furthermore, popular illustrator Mai Yoneyama's newly drawn 'doomsday girl' will guide the exhibition, and an original short story written by Sesuji will be presented as a visitor's gift, among other features designed to enhance immersion and post-experience emotions.

"Bermuda 3" (Bermuda Three) is a creator unit assembled to create new horror creatives.

Novelists, scriptwriters, film directors, the common experience of these three individuals who have produced works in different fields is "video games."

Sato, the scriptwriter of the horror game 'SIREN,' and Director Nishiyama, who wished for a live-action adaptation of 'SIREN,' met, and Mr. Sesuji, the author of 'About a Certain Place in the Kinki Region,' was also a fan of the same game, leading to their agreement and the formation of the unit in the spring of 2024.

'1999 Exhibition - Memories of a Day That Never Was' is Bermuda 3's first creative project.

Naoko Sato
Scriptwriter, Game Creator, Head of Bermuda 3. After graduating from art school, she was involved in game development and participated in the production of 'SILENT HILL.' She worked on the settings and scenarios for the 'SIREN' series, which has a cult following among horror game fans. Her other works include the 'GRAVITY DAZE' series and the animated film 'Bubble,' and she is active in various fields such as games, anime, and exhibitions.

The summer of 2025 was a very strange summer. Watching the many people who suddenly appeared at the 'End of the World' in Roppongi, I felt something special was happening. And in the summer of 2026, the 'End of the World' will appear again. This summer, it's coming to Osaka.

Following Kanto, I am very happy to hold this exhibition in my hometown Kansai. The feeling of being enthusiastic about the end of the world is the same no matter where you are.

Masaki Nishiyama
Film Director. Born in 1999. Started making independent films at the age of 14. His vertical film 'Smartphone Horror!' attracted attention at film festivals both domestically and internationally. He directed 'Influencer Ghost' for GEMSTONE Creative Label (Toho). His first feature film 'Invisible Half' is scheduled for national release on July 31, 2026.
