"It's too niche, seems difficult to do on TV."\n"We've identified a genre that will be popular in the future, but can't commit to initial investment."\n"We have IPs and ideas, but lacked production experience and couldn't propose them."

For all creators who have been unable to take a step forward for these reasons, TV Osaka is preparing "a new platform where challenges can be initiated from ideas."

TV Osaka, celebrating its 45th anniversary, is launching a major project to continuously develop and broadcast new programs from October 2026, investing a maximum of 100 million yen. We are widely soliciting project ideas that are not bound by the conventions or preconceived notions of television, from both inside and outside the company.

This project is TV Osaka's largest-scale call for proposals to date, and its first initiative to accept applications from both within and outside the company.

Project Overview

Over one year from October 2026, new projects will be broadcast at a pace of one per month (target) during late-night slots (other time slots may be considered depending on the project).\nThe application scope, traditionally focused internally, will be significantly expanded to welcome proposals from diverse partners such as external creators, production companies, IP development companies, and influencers.

Projects will be selected with priority given to those that are expected to have secondary developments such as streaming, events, and merchandise, in addition to terrestrial broadcasting.

Three Supports Promised by the Project

・ Terrestrial Broadcast of Pilot Episodes

Selected projects are, in principle, guaranteed production and broadcast of "15-30 minutes x multiple episodes (2-4 times) *all new content (re-broadcasts are not included in the count)" in late-night slots from October 2026 onwards. We will not end with "consideration" but will always provide an opportunity to present to the world, aiming for regular serialization for promising content.

・ Direct Investment of up to 10 Million Yen

The total production cost, including the prospect of regular serialization, is an unprecedented 100 million yen (maximum) for TV Osaka!

2 million to 10 million yen per project (more may be possible depending on content) will be provided as production costs (all expenses for program production).

※Depending on the content of the project and its future development potential, we may consider investing more than the estimated amount. In this project, we will sequentially review and select projects as applications are gathered.

・ Fair Partnership and Rights Design

We will flexibly respond to revenue sharing for secondary developments and co-production (e.g., production committee method) in accordance with the applicant's investment and provided resources.

※Investment is not mandatory.

Desired Project Genres

We are looking for projects in "untapped territories" that TV Osaka has not yet touched, or that are thought to be incompatible with the television medium.

・ Creation of Next-Generation Icons

New genres originating from actors, musicians, comedians, cultural figures, YouTubers, influencers, VTubers, characters, etc.

・ Co-creation with Specialized Media

Visualizing deep information from magazines, web media, and audio media

・ Solution-Oriented IP

Content that solves corporate and local government issues through the power of entertainment

・ Target-Specific

Alpha generation (toddlers), overseas niche segments, minor sports, passionate hobbies

<Past Examples>

The ghost story event at the Expo was a great success, and original goods in collaboration with Myakumyaku were also developed. "Hatsumimi Kaidan" is a ghost story content that continues 360-degree IP development beyond broadcasting. Tickets for the program event sold out immediately! "Saraba no Kono Hon Dare ga Kaitonnen!" is a talk show that invites authors of "quirky books" and asks them about things they're curious about.

"Is this the first program so dedicated to rare plant love?" "Hentai Shokubutsu Club" became a hot topic in the plant community. Hosted by Tenjiku Kawahara, "NEWS Crisis" is a "newsy" program that confronts various "crises" lurking in society and takes a step towards solving them. Idols from Kansai gather in one place! "Habatake! Idol Fes" is a program that supports idols challenging the world.

Selection Criteria

"Originality": A "diagonal" approach that other stations cannot imitate

"Passion": Overwhelming sense of ownership, "I want to put this out into the world"

"Business Potential": Vision for future revenue (streaming, events, merchandise, overseas expansion, etc.)

To all who are taking "the next step"

【Comment from Hiroki Okamoto, Director of Content Strategy】

In this era overflowing with diverse entertainment, to remain a chosen presence for viewers, I feel it is necessary to boldly continue creating "diagonal" content that other companies would not venture into.

However, there are limits to achieving this with our strength alone.

Therefore, this time, by combining your innovative ideas, refined IPs, and new business models with our cultivated video production capabilities and broadcasting/streaming know-how, we aim to challenge ourselves with completely new content that has never existed before.

"Can such a project really be done on TV?"

――Ideas that challenge such common sense are especially welcome.

Let's work together with TV Osaka to launch challenging content that will surprise the world!
