The Yokai Exhibition TOKYO Executive Committee (TV Tokyo, BS TV Tokyo, Nikkei Inc., Jiji Press, Ichihatsu, TV Aichi) is hosting the immersive digital art museum 'Yokai Exhibition TOKYO' at Terrada Warehouse in Tennozu, Tokyo, until Sunday, June 28, 2026.

At 'Yokai Exhibition TOKYO', the number of visitors has exceeded 80,000, and a commemorative ceremony was held.

The 80,000th visitor was a family from Kanagawa Prefecture, who received commemorative goods such as the original muffler towel, original printed cookies, clear file, and original T-shirt. The visit was inspired by their daughter's love of yokai. The family commented, 'It's interesting that each yokai has different powers and background stories, unlike simple ghosts.' 'It's fascinating that some yokai look like monsters while others look like humans.' 'There were not only videos but also sculptures, from small to large, which we enjoyed.' 'We were glad to see real ukiyo-e and learn new things about yokai history.'

What is 'Yokai Exhibition'?

'Yokai Exhibition' is the world's first immersive experiential digital art museum that allows you to immerse yourself in Japan's proud yokai art, centered on the 'Hyakki Yagyo Emaki', 'Hyakumonogatari', 'Oni', 'Tengu', 'Kappa', and 'Tsukumogami' painted by artists from the Edo and Meiji periods, using cutting-edge video technology and three-dimensional modeling.

Furthermore, with the cooperation of Japan's first rare book museum, Nishio City Iwase Bunko, and the Yokai Art Museum on Shodoshima, this exhibition offers explanations of yokai culture, paintings, caricatures, and art, as well as stunning three-dimensional yokai appearances.
