"Ukiyoe Immersive Art Museum GINZA" Concept

The "Ukiyoe Immersive Art Museum GINZA" is an immersive, experiential digital art museum where visitors can dive into the world of Ukiyoe in 8 conceptual three-dimensional video spaces. It features over 300 works by world-renowned Ukiyoe artists such as Katsushika Hokusai, Utagawa Kuniyoshi, Utagawa Hiroshige, Kitagawa Utamaro, Toshusai Sharaku, and Utagawa Kunisada, reimagined as new-sense digital art pieces that can be enjoyed across generations and languages, utilizing state-of-the-art 3DCG animation and projection mapping.

Visitors can enjoy the beauty of Ukiyoe through three-dimensional visuals, sound, and scent productions that envelop the space, themed around Ukiyoe masterpieces such as Katsushika Hokusai's "The Great Wave off Kanagawa" and "Fine Wind, Clear Morning (commonly known as Red Fuji)" from "Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji." Furthermore, actual Ukiyoe prints from the Edo period and reproduction Ukiyoe prints carved after the Meiji era will also be exhibited, with explanations of Ukiyoe history, Edo culture, and Ukiyoe artists provided in multiple languages, including Japanese, English, and Chinese.

In addition, a museum shop offering original goods in collaboration with long-established brands and a gallery displaying and selling actual Ukiyoe prints will be annexed, allowing visitors to experience Edo culture with all five senses and take a piece of it home.

Photography and videography are permitted throughout the venue, allowing visitors to capture themselves in the fantastical world of Ukiyoe.

Please look forward to the "Ukiyoe Immersive Art Museum GINZA," a Japanese cultural experience facility where masterpieces of Ukiyoe that have captivated the world across eras dynamically come to life, and where visitors can learn about the profound depth of Ukiyoe through actual prints and explanations.
