Asakusa's Otherworldly Experience with Yokai Parade Finally Held This Weekend, April 4th (Sat)! 'Asakusa Hyakki Yagyo Parade presented by The Moving Yokai Exhibition TOKYO'

To commemorate the 'The Moving Yokai Exhibition TOKYO' [March 27 (Fri) - June 28 (Sun) at Terada Warehouse G1 Building (2-6-4 Higashi-Shinagawa, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo)], the 'Asakusa Hyakki Yagyo Parade' will be held on Asakusa Rokku Broadway's 'Asakusa Rokku SAKURA STREET -Sakura Tsuyadori-'.

The 'Hyakki Yagyo' (Night Parade of One Hundred Demons), where various Yokai from Japanese folklore parade in a procession, will be held in collaboration with 'Asakusa Rokku SAKURA STREET -Sakura Tsuyadori-' and 'The Moving Yokai Exhibition TOKYO'. Over 70 Yokai, including those recruited in advance from the public and those participating in greetings at 'The Moving Yokai Exhibition TOKYO', will gather in Asakusa. They will parade through Asakusa accompanied by the fantastical performance of a biwa player riding in a leading rickshaw. Furthermore, a collaboration with the fragrance brand 'Hatenko' will offer a cherry blossom blizzard scent production. Spectators can watch and take photos of the Yokai parade from the roadside, so please take this opportunity to enjoy the otherworldly experience of Yokai parading through Asakusa.

*Crowds are expected, so please follow the instructions of the parade staff for guidance.

On Saturday, April 4, 2026, the day of this event, 'Asakusa Rokku SAKURA STREET -Sakura Tsuyadori-' (March 27 - April 5) will be held on Asakusa Rokku Broadway, the venue.

A row of cherry trees will appear along the 180m street, where gorgeous Japanese performances such as Oiran Dochu (courtesan procession) and ninja performances will unfold.

In addition, sponsor Japan Tobacco Inc. (JT) will operate 'Ploom LOUNGE' on the same street. Inside 'Ploom LOUNGE', adult smokers can enjoy a smoking experience while viewing cherry blossoms and various exclusive contents.

What is 'The Moving Yokai Exhibition'?

'The Moving Yokai Exhibition' is the world's first immersive, experiential digital art museum where visitors can immerse themselves in Japan's proud Yokai art, primarily focusing on 'Hyakki Yagyo Emaki' (Night Parade of One Hundred Demons scrolls), 'Hyaku Monogatari' (One Hundred Tales), 'Oni' (demons), 'Tengu', 'Kappa', and 'Tsukumogami' drawn by artists from the Edo and Meiji periods, using cutting-edge video technology and three-dimensional modeling.
