About the Confection 'Tsubaratsubara'
Tsuruya Yoshinobu's best-selling baked confection 'Tsubaratsubara' was first launched 30 years ago in 1996. Its signature soft, chewy baked skin—crafted through a unique blend—and smooth azuki paste filling have made it a beloved treat for daily tea time, daily gifts, and special occasions. It has been cherished by countless customers over the years.
● Rich Flavor from Hokkaido Tokachi Azuki Beans
The key to delicious Japanese sweets lies in the 'an' (sweet bean paste).
'Tsubaratsubara' uses premium 'Hokkaido Tokachi-grown azuki beans', cultivated in the rich northern soil. The cool climate with large temperature variations enhances sweetness and flavor, producing large, plump beans. These carefully selected beans are simmered into a fluffy, smooth 'azuki paste'.
● One-of-a-Kind 'Chewy and Moist' Texture
The perfect balance of 'chewiness' with gentle elasticity and 'moistness' that complements the azuki filling.
This unforgettable texture is achieved by blending mochiko (glutinous rice flour) and wheat flour using Tsuruya Yoshinobu's proprietary method, then slowly baked on copper plates.
