Originally released on Steam in January 2022, the game has achieved over 3 million cumulative downloads. Related music tracks have surpassed 400 million streams, establishing it as a defining indie game in internet culture.
In April 2026, the girl who became a beacon of light in the chaotic Reiwa-era internet — 'Chozetsu Mokawatenchi-chan,' affectionately known as 'Choten-chan' — will make her television anime debut.
Animation production is handled by Yostar Pictures, known for 'Arknights' and 'Blue Archive.'
The director is Masao Nakajima (Yostar Pictures), who previously directed storyboards and episodes for 'Blue Archive' and 'New PANTY & STOCKING with GARTERBELT,' as well as the 'NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE' short anime, bringing a unique narrative and character expression to the animated series.
