Toyo Seikan Group Holdings Signs Supporting Partner Agreement for the J.League All-Star DAZN Cup

Toyo Seikan Group Holdings Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Takuji Nakamura) has signed a supporting partner agreement for the "J.League All-Star DAZN Cup" organized by the Japan Professional Football League (J.League). At the event, which will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at MUFG Stadium (National Stadium), the Group will provide paper containers, including paper cups, and collect used containers. Additionally, the Group will conduct a demonstration experiment aimed at composting paper food containers made with biodegradable plastic* provided in the VIP lounge.

Through this initiative, the Group aims to raise awareness among attendees about the recycling of paper containers and contribute to the realization of a resource-circulating society.

*Plastic made from plant-derived raw materials. It is decomposed by microorganisms under appropriate environmental conditions.

Background of the Partnership Agreement

The J.League, in order to protect the global environment so that future children can safely enjoy sports, has become the first Asian league to participate in the international climate change initiative "Sport Positive Leagues (SPL)" and is promoting various initiatives to solve climate change issues.

The Group has long been promoting the creation of opportunities for consumers to participate in resource circulation in their daily lives. As part of this, it is working to improve visitors' awareness of sorting and recycling at stadiums and arenas, and to build systems for resource circulation.

Through this partnership agreement, the Group will work to reduce combustible waste and raise awareness of resource circulation at stadiums.

Initiatives of the Toyo Seikan Group at the "J.League All-Star DAZN Cup"

At this event, the Group will implement the following initiatives to practice a "waste-free spectating style" together with the attendees. The paper containers to be provided will be manufactured by a Group company.

・Conducting a demonstration experiment aimed at composting used food paper containers in the VIP lounge

Conventional paper containers have a plastic laminate on the inner surface, but for the paper food containers provided in the VIP lounge this time, biodegradable plastic (PLA) will be used. A demonstration experiment will be conducted aiming to collect and compost the used containers.

・Provision of environmentally friendly original paper cups

Providing 17,000 paper cups with low environmental impact, using biomass PE (polyethylene) for the laminate. These are original specifications for this event, designed with the logos of the J.League All-Star DAZN Cup and the Toyo Seikan Group.

・Installation of paper cup washing machine "Re-CUP WASHER"

Two paper cup washing machines "Re-CUP WASHER" developed by a Group company will be installed in the stadium concourse. By providing attendees with the experience of washing paper cups, the initiative aims to raise awareness of recycling.

・Installation of dedicated collection boxes for paper cups

Dedicated collection boxes for paper cups will be placed in the kitchen car area and parts of the concourse. Attendees will be asked to cooperate in sorting, realizing a circulation system where paper cups are reused as resources.

Through these initiatives, the Group will promote the practice of a "waste-free spectating style" together with the attendees and verify the systems for collecting, washing, recycling, and composting paper containers. The Group will continue to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society through resource circulation initiatives at stadiums.
