Tokyo System House Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President: Tomoyuki Hayashi; hereinafter 'TSH'), a system integrator, has decided to acquire the golf course core system 'Yardage Club' business from Golf Digest Online Inc. In conjunction with this business transfer, both companies will establish a strategic partnership to strengthen future collaboration.

Background

In recent years, DX (Digital Transformation) has accelerated in the golf course industry, highlighting changes such as increased web reservation ratios, sophisticated online customer acquisition, and the importance of a seamless digital experience from pre-visit to post-visit. As a result, core systems are now required to have higher levels of integration with reservation platforms, complex real-time data processing, and reliability to support stable on-site operations.

Under these circumstances, combining TSH's development and operational capabilities (including its golf course core system 'SwingClub-CLOUD') with GDO's policy of strengthening customer experience design in the web domain was deemed optimal for both golf courses and golfers, leading to the decision to acquire this business.

TSH will maintain a stable operational system to ensure existing 'Yardage Club' customers can continue to use the service with confidence, while leveraging its field experience and development capabilities to further promote DX across the golf industry.

Roles and Future Directions

TSH Focus Areas

Leveraging its track record in providing golf course core systems and insights from field operations, TSH will take responsibility for improving on-site operations and golfer experience quality. Through the following initiatives, it will drive value enhancement from the on-site operations side:

- Efficiency of golf course management (including cloud adoption) - Improvement of customer service quality by on-site staff - Refinement of the playing experience within golf courses

GDO Focus Areas

GDO will focus on improving customer experiences in the web domain both outside and inside golf courses, advancing user experience design. Across a series of online touchpoints from pre-visit to post-visit, it aims to enhance value:

- Enhancement of digital experiences before visiting (search, booking, information acquisition) - Improved convenience during play through digital support and data utilization - Strengthening online touchpoints for post-visit community building and repeat visits

Value Creation through Collaboration (Vision)

By seamlessly connecting 'digital experiences outside the golf course' with 'on-site experiences inside the golf course,' they will provide a consistent customer experience from pre-visit to post-visit. This collaboration leveraging both companies' strengths will contribute to improved customer attraction, operational efficiency, and continuous customer satisfaction.

Future Initiatives

Going forward, they will steadily promote initiatives in each area while gradually strengthening collaboration and verification. They aim to evolve the overall service through continuous improvement and optimization, not limited to individual functions or measures.
