Trifa Inc. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Masatoshi Kana) will release a new TV commercial for its overseas eSIM app "Trifa," starring brand ambassador Mone Kamishiraishi and Arakawa of the comedy duo "Elf." This commercial will be released online on July 1 (Wed.) and TV broadcasting will begin on July 10 (Fri.).
The commercial is set during preparations for overseas travel, with Kamishiraishi and Arakawa appearing as "gal friends." Faced with a suitcase, Arakawa is worried about preparing communication in the destination country, and Kamishiraishi, a Trifa user, suggests, "Let's just Trifa it!" Through a fast-paced exchange, it depicts a bright and pop worldview where even the preparation time before overseas travel can be enjoyed.
For overseas travel, securing a communication environment via smartphone is essential for using map apps, checking local transportation, contacting accommodations, translation, payments, and posting on social media. On the other hand, rental Wi-Fi requires picking up, returning, and carrying a device, and local SIMs require swapping and setting up SIM cards. Many travelers feel anxious about these preparations.
Trifa is an overseas eSIM app that allows users to complete everything from purchasing a data communication plan to starting its use within the app.
Since communication plans can be purchased before departure, it reduces the burden of airport procedures and pre-travel preparations, and allows immediate communication on smartphones upon arrival.
The catchphrase "Let's just Trifa it!" expresses a freer and lighter overseas travel experience without the need to carry rental Wi-Fi. It conveys the ease and convenience of "Trifa," where eSIMs usable in over 200 countries and regions worldwide can be easily purchased and used with a single app.

Filming Episodes
The commercial shoot began with a scene of preparations for overseas travel. The filming proceeded in a consistently relaxed atmosphere, and the natural banter between Kamishiraishi and Arakawa was a memorable aspect of the set.
In this commercial, in addition to Arakawa, Kamishiraishi also tried "gal nails" specially made for the commercial. During breaks, Arakawa gave Kamishiraishi tips on "how to hold things well even with gal nails," which filled the set with laughter.
They also showed perfect combination during jump scenes and call-and-response scenes. The "gal peace" gesture, synchronized with the line "So fun, it's divine!" was adopted from Arakawa's idea.
During the shoot, they gradually grew closer, calling each other "Mone-Mero" and "Aramero," and during the still photo shoot, they started with a back-to-back shot, with one of them smiling and saying, "We're back-to-back again~!" The shoot deepened their bond throughout the day.
Mone Kamishiraishi and Elf Arakawa Interview (Excerpt from Making-of Video)
- Please tell us your thoughts on finishing the shoot and your impressions of co-starring.
Kamishiraishi:
It was a very fun shoot. I had worked with Arakawa before, but this time we were able to spend a long time in close proximity, and I was reminded of her wonderful personality. She was always cheerful and kind on set, and I like her even more. It was very memorable to be able to act together in this unique atmosphere.
Arakawa:
Seeing Kamishiraishi's acting up close, I realized how amazing she is. Her expressions, tone of voice, and subtle nuances were truly delicate, and I was drawn in while acting with her. Moreover, she was very kind to me on set, and it was impressive how the whole atmosphere was so gentle. I feel truly happy to have worked with her.
- If you two were to go on an overseas trip this summer, where would you like to go? And what kind of role division do you think there would be?
Kamishiraishi:
I'd like to go to America. I think it would be a very fun trip if we could enjoy together what Arakawa wants to see and where she wants to go. Rather than strictly deciding roles, I think we'd probably just list places we want to go and move accordingly. Even if unexpected things happen, I think it would be a trip where we could find enjoyment in those too.
Arakawa:
I'd also like to go to America. Even places that might feel a bit daunting to go alone would feel very reassuring with Kamishiraishi. Rather than dividing roles finely, I think it would suit us to enjoy the flow of the moment, and it would be a trip where we could laugh together positively no matter what happens.
- Please tell us your impressions of Trifa and what you found good about it.
Arakawa:
I thought it was a very reassuring service that reduces anxiety about communication during overseas travel. Overseas, you might worry about "Will it connect properly?" or "What should I do if I get into trouble?" but I felt Trifa offers a sense of security that resonates with those feelings. It's a reliable service even for overseas travel beginners, to the point where I want to use it on my next trip!
Kamishiraishi:
In addition to being easy to use, the 24-hour support available in Japanese is a very reassuring point. In foreign countries, just having a communication environment makes a huge difference in peace of mind, so I felt it's a service that allows for lighter, more carefree travel.
- Please share some tips for enjoying travel, especially for overseas travel beginners.
Kamishiraishi:
I think the most important thing is to find enjoyment in everything that happens. On overseas trips, you might encounter things you can't imagine in Japan, or be confused by cultural and language differences, but instead of getting discouraged each time, if you think "That's part of the fun of traveling," you'll surely enjoy it much more. Even if something surprising happens, accepting it positively is the key to enjoying your trip.
- Please tell us one travel essential that you both consider "Trifa, this is it!"
Kamishiraishi:
In terms of travel essentials, I think the "desire to enjoy" itself is the most important. Because unexpected things happen overseas, the trip becomes much more fun if you can find enjoyment in them, so in that sense, a "gal mindset" might also be an essential. As for an item, I bring a small ball. When traveling, you walk a lot, and rolling it under your feet can relieve fatigue and make it easier to move the next day.
Arakawa:
Indeed, the "gal mindset" is very important. If you can accept whatever happens with "That's okay," or "That's interesting," the enjoyment of the trip changes, doesn't it? On top of that, for me, an essential is a fashion item that lifts my mood. Wearing clothes and nails that I like naturally makes me feel positive, and I feel like I can spend my time true to myself even when traveling.
Kamishiraishi:
I also feel that clothes that might require a bit of courage in Japan can be worn enjoyably overseas. Bringing something you can't usually challenge yourself with on a trip can change your mood and be nice.
Arakawa: If you bring things that lift your mood and have a "gal mindset" to enjoy whatever happens, I feel you can enjoy your trip more freely. For me, both are important essentials.
