WILLER Co., Ltd. (Head office: Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture; Representative Director: Shigetaka Murase; hereinafter "WILLER") has decided to transfer all of its shares in Community Mobility Co., Ltd. (Head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Shigetaka Murase; hereinafter "Community Mobility"), a joint venture with KDDI Corporation (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President, and CEO: Koji Matsuda), to KDDI Corporation on July 1, 2026.
Consequently, the "mobi" business (AI on-demand transportation/public rideshare), which has been operated as a joint venture between the two companies in Japan, will undergo a reorganization of its operational structure. Going forward, each company will promote business development based on their respective strategies.
As a result of this reorganization, out of approximately 60 existing service areas that Community Mobility has developed, WILLER will take over the provision of services in some areas, including Odate City in Akita Prefecture, Kyotango City in Kyoto Prefecture, Kotohira Town in Kagawa Prefecture, and Ubuyama Village in Kumamoto Prefecture, and will continue to operate and provide systems. Meanwhile, Community Mobility will continue to provide services in the other areas.
This matter is a reorganization concerning the operation and licensing of the "mobi" business in Japan and does not affect WILLER's international business.
Furthermore, WILLER will retain the trademark rights and intellectual property rights related to the "mobi" brand and will provide services by granting Community Mobility a license for use in Japan.
Going forward, WILLER will promote its domestic and international expansion as a MaaS platform provider that integrates tourism, transportation, and data under the "WILLER mobi" brand, building a mobility ecosystem utilizing a globally common service infrastructure.
Currently, this service is deployed not only in Japan but also in Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, Guam, and Hawaii, and the number of members has expanded to approximately 370,000.
In Japan, WILLER will also actively promote the "WILLER mobi" business, tailored to diverse regional characteristics and needs, and through service evolution and business expansion, will strive to create new mobility services that integrate regional transportation and tourism, and provide MaaS platforms.
