TRANBI, an M&A matching platform, announced that Yokota Shopping Center Cooperative, a supermarket in Okuizumo Town, Shimane Prefecture, has started recruiting a successor by name. The supermarket has supported the local community's food supply for 30 years. The current management, in their late 70s to 80s, decided on succession due to physical reasons, driven by a strong desire to protect the town's food supply. The business is a community-based shopping center, operating since 1995, and functions as a vital 'kitchen' for the region. It maintains annual sales of approximately 800 million JPY in a town of about 10,000 people. The succession involves a stock transfer, including assets like equipment, inventory, business rights, and know-how. TRANBI seeks a successor with a strong interest in regional contribution and local revitalization, who prioritizes quality in food, and can leverage existing trust while exploring new services. TRANBI, established in 2016, operates an M&A platform that connects businesses looking to sell with those looking to buy. It shifted from a success-fee model to a monthly fixed-fee model in 2021 and had over 200,000 registered users by 2025.
