Ichibata Yakushiji Temple is commencing the distribution of "Monthly Changing Amulets" featuring motifs of the seasons and traditional Japanese events. This initiative offers a new way to enjoy selecting amulets while experiencing Japan's four seasons through different designs each month.
The first installment in July is a limited-edition design themed around "Tanabata," where wishes are entrusted to strips of paper. Crafted with motifs of stars shining in the night sky and colorful strips, it results in a special amulet unique to summer.
"Monthly Changing Amulets" Start, Inviting Monthly Visits
Ichibata Yakushiji Temple is launching the "Monthly Changing Amulets" with the desire for people to enjoy amulets not just as objects to entrust their wishes to, but also as items that bring them closer to the seasons and Japanese culture. Each month, a different design will be released, centered around the changing seasons and events. You can look forward to encountering a special piece unique to that month.
The First Edition: "Tanabata," Sending Wishes to the Night Sky
The July limited-edition design is inspired by "Tanabata," a representative event of Japanese summer. The deep indigo fabric features woven patterns reminiscent of stars shining in the night sky and strips of paper, expressing the Tanabata night sky. Just as wishes are entrusted to bamboo branches on Tanabata, this amulet allows you to imbue it with your own wishes.
A New Enjoyment: Choosing Amulets That Reflect the Seasons
At Ichibata Yakushiji Temple, we continue to cherish the sense of season in our initiatives, aiming for the time spent creating the amulets to become a cherished memory. Moving forward, we plan to distribute limited-edition designs each month, themed around the nature and events of each season.
"I wonder what kind of amulet it will be this month."
We hope that such small joys will become a reason to visit the temple, leading to time spent experiencing Japanese seasons and culture.
