Ichihatasan Yakushiji Temple will begin distributing its May-exclusive "Foil-Stamped Goshuin" from May 1, 2026. This Goshuin is a limited-edition item offered monthly. The design has been renewed for 2026, featuring a three-dimensional and vibrant motif with gold foil stamping at its center.
Each month, two types of Goshuin will be offered: a major festival Goshuin inspired by the seasonal festivals held at Ichihatasan Yakushiji Temple, and a Goshuin featuring one of the Twelve Heavenly Generals who protect those who worship Yakushi Nyorai.
Major Festival Goshuin: "Bishamonten" For the Spring Grand Festival, prayers are offered for the fulfillment of everyone's wishes. Bishamonten, enshrined at the Nagoya branch temple, is a god who brings victory, offering blessings for good fortune, financial prosperity, and business success.
Twelve Heavenly Generals Goshuin: "Satella Taisho" With Akasagarbha Bodhisattva as his original Buddha, Satella Taisho offers blessings for improved memory, enhanced skills, and business prosperity. The wish-granting jewel scepter he holds brings wealth and good fortune.
The Goshuin for May depicts a horse, which is the zodiac animal of Satella Taisho, who protects during May.
Distribution Locations The limited-edition Goshuin can be obtained at the Okazaki Main Temple, the Nagoya Branch Temple, and, starting in 2026, also at the online branch, allowing even those with mobility issues or living far away to collect them.
