1. About the Limited Goshuin for May, Reiwa 8 (2026)

Ikuta Shrine (Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture) will be offering five types of limited edition Goshuin, including two types of cut-out Goshuin, starting from May 1st (Friday), Reiwa 8.

Limited Goshuin for May

Cut-out Goshuin [Satsuki Nobori]

This Goshuin is expressed as a cut-out design featuring the characters "Satsuki Nobori," another name for carp streamers, which originated in the Edo period with samurai families wishing for the advancement of their male children. The design incorporates Satsuki Nobori, displayed on May 5th for the Tango no Sekku (Boy's Day), and "Ayame" (iris), an herb traditionally believed to ward off evil spirits. We sincerely pray for everyone's "health and longevity" this month, under the divine grace of Ikuta Okami.
*Part of the design uses a unique expression created by adjusting the laser output to shave the paper (half-cut technique) instead of regular laser cutting.
Approximately A5 size (210mm x 148mm).

Period of Offering: May 1st to May 31st, Reiwa 8
*May be out of stock depending on the situation.

Hatsuhoryo (initial offering fee): 1,000 yen

The overall design uses the Shippo pattern, a traditional motif where circles connect infinitely, embodying wishes such as "continuing connections," "good relationships," and "prosperity of descendants." We pray that this month, filled with the beautiful fresh greenery and refreshing weather of May, will bring you good encounters, good connections, and a joyful heart.
Approximately A5 size (210mm x 148mm).

Approximately A5 size (210mm x 148mm).

3. About Ikuta Shrine

Ikuta Shrine, affectionately known as "Ikuta-san" by locals in Kobe. In the first year of Empress Jingu's regency (201 AD), on her way back from the Three Kingdoms, her ship stopped moving offshore of what is now Kobe Port. When a divination was performed, Wakahirume-no-Mikoto appeared and said, "I wish to reside in Ikuta Nagao-kuni," and was enshrined by Okinaga-no-sukune. It is widely revered as the guardian deity of Kobe, offering blessings for matchmaking, health and longevity, business prosperity, family safety, as well as successful romance and safe childbirth.
