Tokyo German Village (Location: Sodegaura City, Chiba Prefecture / Operated by: Meiwa Kosan Co., Ltd.) has completely renewed the 'Hydrangea Forest' area within the park and planted a total of 700 cherry trees.

These cherry trees were generously donated by Mr. Takeo Kawaguchi, a former Sosa City councilman who has contributed to the local community for many years. Replacing the hydrangeas that have been loved until now, the young cherry trees newly coloring various parts of the park have finally begun to produce lovely flowers this spring. We are pleased to announce the birth of a new 'cherry blossom viewing spot' at Tokyo German Village.

Bold Renewal: From an Area Starring 'Hydrangeas' to One Starring 'Cherry Blossoms'
At Tokyo German Village, we focus on creating beautiful seasonal landscapes. This time, receiving immense kindness from Mr. Takeo Kawaguchi, we carried out a major redevelopment centered on the 'Hydrangea Forest,' which had previously colored early summer. We boldly renewed the entire area into a space where visitors can enjoy 'spectacular spring scenery' by replacing the hydrangeas with 700 cherry tree saplings.

Overview of the Donated Cherry Trees (700 in total): A 'Cherry Blossom Relay' from Early to Late Spring
By planting a wide variety of species, the park will be dyed pink for a long period, from early bloomers to late bloomers.

Yoko (Early blooming): 150 trees (Vibrant, dark pink cherry blossoms that announce the arrival of spring a step early)
Yoshino Cherry: 150 trees (The synonym for Japanese spring. The royal road cherry blossom boasting overwhelming gorgeousness)
Weeping Cherry (Heian, etc.): 200 trees (Cherry blossoms that create a tasteful landscape with graceful branches)
Double Cherry Blossoms (5 varieties including Kanzan, Gyoiko, and Yokihi): 200 trees (Cherry blossoms with beautifully layered petals that decorate the finale of spring)

Thoughts of Mr. Takeo Kawaguchi and the Future Outlook of Tokyo German Village
The 700 cherry trees are filled with Mr. Kawaguchi's warm wish that 'many people will enjoy the cherry blossoms and find it a peaceful place.' Although they are newly planted saplings, they have taken root strongly and have already bloomed beautifully in some areas this year.

In the future, we expect these young trees to spread their branches larger year by year, growing into one of Chiba Prefecture's leading 'cherry blossom viewing spots' that welcomes guests with tunnels of cherry blossoms in full bloom and beautiful cherry blossom blizzards. Tokyo German Village, together with the local community, will watch over the growth of these cherry trees and nurture them with care.
