RIHGA Royal Hotel Kyoto (Higashihorikawa-dori Shiokoji, Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto City; General Manager: Chizu Nakaya) will begin accepting reservations for the 'Type 923 Doctor Yellow Cake Stay Plan' – a stay in the RIHGA Train Room Series 776 – from May 14, 2026 (Thursday), with sales starting from May 20 (Wednesday). The plan starts from 37,180 yen per room for two people (includes breakfast, cake, taxes, service charges, and accommodation tax).

This plan is an exclusive accommodation package limited to the 'RIHGA Train Room Series 776' concept room, where guests can fully enjoy the world of railways. In a space where the stay itself becomes a special experience, a special chocolate cake inspired by Doctor Yellow, crafted by the hotel's pastry chef, is provided. It promises a moment of smiles not only for railway fans but also for families and those celebrating anniversaries.

Doctor Yellow has been affectionately known as a presence that 'brings happiness if you see it' due to its rarity. The Type 923 T4 formation owned by JR Tokai was retired in January 2025, and the Type 923 T5 formation owned by JR West is scheduled to retire around 2027 or later, continuing to attract attention.

The cake is meticulously recreated with chocolate by the hotel's pastry chef, and its vibrant yellow body, symbolizing Doctor Yellow, looks stunning on the plate, almost too good to eat.
