Toyokumo Launches 'Enterprise' Course for kBackup, Enabling Direct Data Backups to Customer AWS Environments

Toyokumo Inc. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President: Yuji Yamamoto), a provider of easy-to-use business cloud services, announced that it will launch the 'Enterprise' course for its backup service 'kBackup' on June 1, 2026. 'kBackup' is designed to safely and automatically back up information within 'kintone', a no-code/low-code tool provided by Cybozu, Inc. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Yoshihisa Aono).

This new course allows companies with internal security policies that prohibit backing up data to external environments to select their own environment as the backup destination. This enables the construction of a data preservation system that complies with internal policies while protecting kintone data.

Solving the 'No External Data Storage' Challenge: Direct Backup to In-House AWS for Policy-Compliant Data Preservation

Previously, 'kBackup' was limited to backing up data to an AWS environment managed by Toyokumo, which posed a significant barrier for companies with security policies such as 'data cannot be stored in external environments other than our own.'

The new 'Enterprise' course is designed to solve this issue under the concept of 'protecting important data while adhering to internal rules.' In this course, customers can specify their own AWS environment as the backup destination for kintone data, in addition to the traditional Toyokumo-managed AWS environment.

This allows companies that do not permit data storage in external environments to realize a data preservation system that complies with their internal policies.

Key Features of the 'kBackup' Enterprise Course

Automated Data Integration without Operational Burden

By simply specifying the company's own AWS during initial setup, kintone data is automatically backed up to that environment thereafter. There is no need for staff to perform daily manual exports, ensuring reliable data preservation without operational burden.

Flexible Storage Settings per App

Backup destinations (in-house AWS or Toyokumo environment) can be set individually for each kintone app. This allows for flexible operation tailored to corporate policies, such as 'keeping only highly confidential apps under in-house management.'

Utilization as a Data Analysis Platform via BI Tool Integration

Backup data stored in the company's own AWS can be integrated with BI tools such as Amazon QuickSight. This allows the data to be used not only as a safeguard against emergencies but also as a data analysis platform for the company.

Traditional Operability and Easy Restoration

Even when the storage destination is changed to the company's own environment, data restoration can be performed intuitively from the 'kBackup' management screen, just as before. This balances robust governance and convenience without compromising user operability.
