Toyo Corporation Launches 'TSB DRIVE Series' All-in-One Motor Torque Test Bench for Miniaturization and High Output of e-Mobility and Industrial Equipment Motors

Toyo Corporation (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Toshiya Takano) will launch the 'TSB DRIVE series' on March 27, 2026. This new model of the Toyo-manufactured 'TSB (Toyo Smart Bench) series'—an all-in-one motor torque test bench—includes three models: 'TSBD2000,' 'TSBD1000,' and 'TSBD500,' designed for motoring and regenerating tests of small-to-medium motors.

【 Background / Overview 】

The 'TSB DRIVE series' targets torque testing for small-to-medium motors (1.5kW to 5.0kW) used in air conditioning equipment, small mobility, and industrial machinery. It standardizes support for both motoring tests (measuring acceleration/drive) and regenerative tests (recovering power generated during deceleration). Utilizing regenerative energy is directly linked to improved energy efficiency, extended cruising range, and longer system life. Furthermore, by adopting a highly responsive load motor, the inertia of the loading device has been reduced to up to 1/8th of the class average. Additionally, real-time load commands are sent to the load motor at 250µs (microsecond) intervals, enabling load testing that more closely simulates real-world operation. This allows for efficient testing across various processes, from development and control design verification to final shipping inspections.

With the launch of these new models, Toyo Corporation will further support evaluation testing aimed at the miniaturization and high-output performance of motors in fields such as air conditioning, small mobility, and industrial machinery.

As electrification advances, particularly in e-mobility and industrial equipment, there is a growing demand for smaller, higher-output, and more efficient motors and inverters. In response, Toyo Corporation developed and released the 'TSB series' in March 2022, providing a complete set of equipment necessary for measuring torque, rotation speed, and efficiency. Since then, the company has continued to expand its product lineup by customizing solutions to meet user needs and standardizing functions to support a wider range of motor torque tests.

1. All-in-one provision of items necessary for motor torque measurement

Supports evaluation of small-to-medium motors from 1.5kW to 5.0kW. The all-in-one system includes a torque meter, load motor, control panel, load control/measurement software, bench jigs, safety devices, and a measurement instrument wagon, allowing evaluation to begin immediately after installation.

2. Reproduction of torque and speed fluctuation loads during a single rotation (depending on motor specifications)

Employs a highly responsive load motor, achieving up to '1/8th low inertia' compared to similar class brake loads. Additionally, real-time load commands to the load motor at 250µs intervals enable load testing that is closer to actual machine operation.

3. Connects with power meters and temperature loggers, supporting a wide range of tests with a single software
