Iizuna Town, Nagano Prefecture to Establish Relocation Subsidy of 1 Million Yen!

Iizuna Town, Nagano Prefecture, will provide up to 1 million yen from April 2026 to those who previously lived in Iizuna Town and renovate a house where their parents or guardians live, with the aim of relocating and settling in Iizuna Town again! The purpose is to promote relocation and settlement for those who have moved out of town and to secure caregivers for elderly households by subsidizing a portion of the renovation costs within the budget. Subsidy Grant Requirements: All of the following 1 to 6 must be met: 1. A person who previously had a domicile in Iizuna Town and renovates a house where their parents or guardians currently reside, with the aim of relocating and settling in Iizuna Town again. 2. A person who does not have a domicile in the town or who has not had a domicile in the town for more than one year at the time of the application for grant specified in Article 7 (excluding the period of residence in rental housing in the town), and who has a domicile in the subsidized housing at the time of the performance report specified in Article 11. 3. A person who has resided outside the town for five years or more, or who had resided outside the town for five years or more before having a domicile in the town. 4. The subsidized person and those belonging to the same household (hereinafter referred to as 'subsidized persons, etc.') must not be delinquent in taxes and fees levied by Iizuna Town. 5. The subsidized persons, etc. must not be a gangster or a member of a gangster organization as stipulated in the Iizuna Town Gangster Exclusion Ordinance (Iizuna Town Ordinance No. 21 of 2011), or a person who has a close relationship with a gangster organization. 6. The subsidized persons, etc. must not have received a subsidy based on these guidelines in the past. Subsidized Projects: 1. Projects eligible for the subsidy are renovations completed within the fiscal year of the grant decision. 2. The reference date for the period stipulated in 1. shall be the date of submission of the subsidy performance report. 3. Projects for which the contract date has passed more than one year are not eligible for the subsidy. *If the contract is made and construction starts before the grant decision, it will not be eligible for the subsidy. Subsidized Expenses: 1. Expansion or renovation of rooms, bathrooms, toilets, and kitchens necessary for living, and other attached fixtures. 2. Renovation of walls, pillars, floors, beams, and roofs. 3. Replacement of tatami mats, fusuma, shoji, window glass, and sashes. 4. New installation or renovation of electricity (voltage increase), water and sewage facilities, new installation or replacement of water heaters. 5. Other expenses deemed appropriate. The following expenses are not eligible for the subsidy: 1. Installation of combined septic tanks, beneficiary charges and joining fees related to water and sewage facility construction. 2. New construction, purchase of home appliances and furniture. 3. New installation or renovation of gates, fences, gardens (garden trees), sunrooms, garages, warehouses, and annexes, installation of solar power generation equipment, and other expenses not directly necessary for living. Amount of Subsidy: 1/2 of the renovation cost (fractions of 1,000 yen are rounded down). However, the maximum amount of the subsidy is 1 million yen if a local contractor performs the work, and 500,000 yen otherwise. See details.
