On April 3, 2026, Higashikawa Town, Hokkaido, entered into an Official Partnership Agreement with Takashimaya Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka City, Osaka; President: Yoshio Murata) to strengthen mutual cooperation.

The "Official Partner System" promoted by Higashikawa Town aims to build partnerships with relevant companies to co-create social value that nurtures the future of local regions, Japan, and the world. Through this agreement, Higashikawa Town and Takashimaya will promote co-creation projects that leverage their respective resources and strengths, contributing to regional revitalization through diverse forms of collaboration.

A relationship has already been established with Takashimaya through the promotion of Higashikawa's local specialties and lifestyle appeal. With the signing of this agreement, we will develop new initiatives to connect urban and regional areas. These include the exhibition and sale of local specialties and promotional events at Takashimaya stores, the provision of experiential content utilizing Higashikawa's cultural and natural resources, and the implementation of regional training programs for employees.
