Goka Town, Ibaraki Prefecture: New Housing Completed to Support Influx and Settlement of Child-Rearing Households!

Goka Town, Ibaraki Prefecture, held a completion ceremony on February 27, 2026, for its child-rearing support housing "Hidamari Residence I & II," aimed at promoting the influx and settlement of child-rearing households.

Guests and construction personnel attended the ceremony, which included a ribbon-cutting and an open house for the completed residences.
This marked a milestone ceremony celebrating the completion of the housing, which has been under construction since July 2025, and represents a new step towards regional revitalization.

This project is the first housing development in Goka Town to adopt the PFI (Private Finance Initiative) scheme.
The complex consists of 30 units across two locations within the town, Harajukudai and Kawazuma districts, providing a living environment where child-rearing households can live with peace of mind.
Occupancy will begin sequentially from March 2026, and applications will close once all units are filled.

## Mayor's Comment
Children are the treasure of our town, and we believe that creating an environment where they can be raised with peace of mind is a crucial role for the town. This project, the first PFI scheme in Goka Town, has seen collaboration between the administration, private companies, and financial institutions, leveraging their respective strengths to create a comfortable living environment for child-rearing households. In addition to housing development, we expect that the development of community facilities and parks will also lead to the formation of local communities. We hope that the children raised here will love the town and that this will lead to town development where they will want to continue living in the future.
