Aiming for 1 Million Tourists by 2030, Promoting Town Circulation for Visitors to Two Major Resorts

Fujimi Town, Nagano Prefecture (Mayor: Yo Watanabe) will begin distributing the "FY Reiwa 8 Fujimi Town Tourist Circulation Discount Ticket" from Wednesday, July 1, 2026. A 300 yen discount ticket, usable at approximately 70 shops in town, will be distributed to tourists visiting the two major resorts, Fujimi Panorama Resort and Fujimi Kogen Resort, which are the main attractions for tourism in the town. This initiative aims to revitalize the local economy and create a sustainable tourism region by expanding tourist spending throughout the town, starting from the two major resorts.

[Background: Tourism That Doesn't End at the Resort]

Fujimi Town has two major resorts that attract approximately 900,000 visitors annually. However, many visitors are day-trippers, and while the town offers diverse attractions such as restaurants, direct farm product sales outlets, and experience facilities, expanding circulation to these has been a challenge. Therefore, this project will distribute a 300 yen discount ticket, usable for purchases of 1,000 yen or more (tax included) at approximately 70 shops in town, targeting visitors to the two major resorts.

1. Expanded to Approximately 70 Participating Shops

The number of shops where the tourist circulation discount ticket can be used has expanded from 57 shops last year to approximately 70. The scope of eligible businesses has also broadened, with experience facilities newly participating in addition to restaurants and accommodation facilities. This aims to encourage tourists to explore various parts of the town.
