[ Introduction ]
We, Nitto Towel, will open a learning space called "Towel School" under the banner "A towel is a letter." on April 29, 2026. This release is our "Dream Statement" aimed at the future 100 years from now.
The accompanying photo is an object of the yellow building that will be our learning space. If you look at the usual building from a new perspective, the wholesaler might just look like a school... maybe!?

"A towel is a letter."
Have you ever felt a sense of relief from the warmth of a handwritten letter, even before reading the words inside?
A towel is the same. There is someone you want to deliver it to, feelings you want to convey, and a soft texture that touches your fingertips.
We believe that a towel, which touches the skin directly and conveys comfort, is a sign of love and friendship that reaches the heart even more than words. It is like the most familiar handwritten letter that stays close to our daily lives.
If we only consider functionality, a paper towel might be enough to wipe wet hands.
So, 100 years from now, will the time-consuming "towel" requiring washing, or the "letter" that takes time to think of the recipient, disappear from this world?
I, and we, believe that such effort and time will never disappear.
The "Towel School" we are about to undertake is a school that values "slow time" for caring for oneself and others, much like the time brought by letters and towels. Of course, since it's a school, there will be scenes of sharing and learning together, but there, we want to remember that "oneself" and we ourselves are also members of the students at the learning space.
The important thing is not to rush, but to take it slowly and easily. Eventually, we might become able to offer "words of care" to someone, or to ourselves, just like calling out to a childhood friend we haven't seen in a while. I think such time will, in turn, bring about deep dialogue with someone, or stimulating time where both can feel excited.
From now on, we will slowly begin our "Towel School."
Has my letter reached you yet?
[ Information on Nitto Fes 2026 ]
To mark the opening of the "Towel School," we will hold a kick-off cultural festival, "Nitto Fes 2026," for two days on April 28 (Tue) and 29 (Wed/Holiday), 2026, at the Nitto Towel Main Store (6-3 Nihonbashi Yokoyamacho, Chuo-ku, Tokyo).
At Nitto Fes, under the slogan "Let's play as if learning in the yellow building!!", we will hold a public planning meeting (dialogue event) aimed at recruiting students from next year. We will invite guests to discuss the creation of a "Towel School" where slow time flows in the future across various themes.
Also, inside the venue, there will be many stalls, workshops, and exhibition booths by people connected to Nitto Towel. We will deliver a handmade, lively festival that dyes the building yellow.
