What is Tokai University's Faculty of Architecture and Urban Design "Monozukuri Student Summit"?

This project is a challenge-solving research competition that aims to foster practical human resources among students through industry-government-academia collaboration. Students form teams to independently research and propose solutions to issues faced by companies and public organizations, presenting effective solutions. Toei Housing has participated in this initiative for four consecutive years.

The Theme is "A House I Want to Live In" ~A House that Connects People, A House Where Friends Gather~

The theme provided by Toei Housing this time was "A House I Want to Live In" ~A House that Connects People, A House Where Friends Gather~

Both participating teams based their proposals on a "single-slope flat house," each approaching it from a different perspective. Both proposals were highly complete, and the judging was very close.

Grand Prize: REFRESH

The project "Gathering in the Margins" received high praise for its overall completeness, from concept to presentation and model. The composition of the tubular space and earthen floor, as well as the consideration for living flow, were highly evaluated.

Excellence Award: sumikko

This team, participating for the first time this year, completed the project "Connecting Inside, Gathering Outside." by holding online consultations. Their clear presentation of the large roof, veranda, and sunken floor using a model was highly evaluated.

Reception Held

Following the awards ceremony, a reception was held, allowing Toei Housing employees to deepen their interactions with the participating students.

Blooming Garden Site Visit Conducted

In mid-March, we conducted a site visit to our "Blooming Garden" detached housing development.

During this visit, participants observed each stage from land preparation and framing to carpentry and completion, experiencing the entire process of building a house.

At the land preparation site, the site manager explained the process from commencement to completion and the key points emphasized in daily operations. At the construction and completion sites, explanations were provided from both construction and design perspectives regarding safety, schedule, quality control, and regulations, plans, and design.

For the participating students, this provided an opportunity to gain practical experience not available in regular classes, deepening their understanding of actual work. For our company, it was a valuable opportunity from a human resource development perspective, as young employees took the lead in promoting this initiative. *We refer to our employees as "human assets" (人財) as we consider them valuable resources.

Toei Housing will continue to contribute to the development of next-generation talent and the housing industry through industry-academia collaboration initiatives.
