What is Tokai University's Department of Architecture and Urban Design's "Monozukuri Student Summit"?

This project is a challenge-solving research competition aimed at fostering practical human resources through industry-academia-government collaboration. Students form teams to independently research and propose solutions to issues faced by companies and public organizations, presenting effective solutions. Toeijutaku has participated in this initiative for four consecutive years.

Theme: "My Ideal Home" - A Home that Connects People and Gathers Friends

The theme from Toeijutaku this time was: "My Ideal Home" - A Home that Connects People and Gathers Friends.

Both participating teams based their proposals on a "single-slope roof bungalow," each offering a different perspective. Both were highly complete, and the judging was very close.

Grand Prize: REFRESH

The work "Gathering in the Margins" was highly praised for its completeness from concept to presentation and model, as well as its composition of tubular spaces and earthen floors, and consideration for living flow.

Excellence Award: sumikko

Despite being their first participation this year, they completed their work "Connecting Inside, Gathering Outside" through repeated online consultations. Their clear presentation of the use of a large roof, engawa (veranda), and sunken floor using a model was highly praised.
