Tokiwa-so Street Showa Retro Kan Special Exhibition "Play in Those Days and Our Time" Starts Saturday, April 25, 2026!

The Tokiwa-so Street Showa Retro Kan (Toshima City Showa Historical and Cultural Memorial Hall), operated by the Toshima Mirai Cultural Foundation (Location: Toshima City, Tokyo; Chairperson: Naoto Aiba), will hold the special exhibition "Play in Those Days and Our Time" starting Saturday, April 25. This special exhibition mainly features the play and games that children enjoyed during the Showa era. Packed with an analog feel quite different from the Reiwa era, there were also games that could be dangerous if handled or ruled incorrectly. Multipurpose Room 1 on the 1st floor will feature a space inspired by a Showa-era vacant lot, while Multipurpose Room 2 on the 2nd floor will recreate a children's room, offering both indoor and outdoor play experiences. In addition, event and workshop projects where visitors can experience Showa-era play will be held. Whether you spent your childhood in the Showa era or are a child who doesn't know the Showa era, why not experience the Showa era through play?
