The Toshima Mirai Cultural Foundation (Location: Toshima-ku, Tokyo; Chairman: Naoto Aiba) is holding the 'Maiko Yoshizawa Solo Exhibition Horizon' at Echika Ikebukuro Gallery.

From the early Showa period to the post-war era, young artists moved to the area around Nishi-Ikebukuro, and their passionate creative endeavors led to the area being called 'Ikebukuro Montparnasse,' likening it to Montparnasse in Paris, France. This project aims to make Ikebukuro a place where artists can connect and expand their activities, as it once was, by disseminating cultural and artistic information about Toshima Ward and exhibition plans of currently active artists.

This is the first installment of a project themed 'Connect, Expand, Ikebukuro,' featuring Maiko Yoshizawa's solo exhibition.

Maiko Yoshizawa is an artist active in various expressive methods, including Japanese painting, performance, and body painting on stage.

This exhibition will feature Yoshizawa's recent work, the tile piece 'Horizon' (partial) which is up to 8 meters wide, along with about 10 smaller works. Please visit the venue.
