Marugame Seimen will hold the Sanuki Udon Artisan Festival 2026 from Monday, May 25 to Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at its Kanda Ogawamachi store in Tokyo. The event is designed to connect, expand, and elevate the appeal and culture of Sanuki udon, bringing together six renowned Sanuki udon shops to serve authentic handmade udon. Now in its second year, the festival will feature an expanded lineup and program. Participating shops include Oudon Seto Hare, winner of the SANU-1 GRAND PRIX, runner-up Teuchi Udon Ue o Muite, as well as Jun Teuchi Udon Yoshiya, Teuchi Udon Shimizuya, Honkaku Teuchi Udon Mori, and Teuchi Udon Marugame Watanabe. A special co-created menu item, Olive Beef Bukkake Udon, will also be offered. The dish uses Olive Beef, a domestic wagyu raised on feed made with repurposed resources such as olive pomace from Shodoshima in Kagawa Prefecture. The beef is paired with broth provided by Marugame Seimen and noodles from each participating shop, creating a limited-edition bowl available only during the three-day event. Visitors can also enjoy a tasting set featuring three types of udon: cold soy sauce udon, hot kake udon, and Olive Beef Bukkake Udon served hot or cold. Limited side dishes will include sweet red bean mochi tempura, handmade sea bream chikuwa tempura, and koyadofu tempura. A booth will also be set up inside the store where guests can watch artisans hand-cut udon noodles. The event will run in two sessions each day: 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for lunch and 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for dinner, with last orders at 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. respectively. On May 27, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., a special Sanuki udon experience led by artisans from Jun Teuchi Udon Yoshiya will be held, offering participants the chance to try noodle cutting and tasting. Participation is free and limited by lottery to five people aged 18 or older. A total of 1,200 servings will be available, limited to 200 servings per session, and sales will end once items sell out. During the event, visitors who try udon from two participating shops can also join a stamp rally for a chance to win original limited goods and items from the featured shops.
