Learn Traffic Rules with Grampus-kun and Doala! "Traffic Safety Book" to be Distributed to First-Graders in Nagoya City

Meitetsu Corporation (Head Office: Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, President: Hiroki Takasaki, hereinafter Meitetsu) has produced a "Traffic Safety Book" in cooperation with "Aichi Toyota," a Toyota dealership operated by AT Group Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, President: Masashi Yamaguchi), to promote traffic safety awareness among local children.

This booklet features original designs with "Grampus-kun" and "Doala," the official mascots of local sports teams "Nagoya Grampus" and "Chunichi Dragons," allowing children to learn about traffic safety in a fun way. The booklet is scheduled to be distributed to first-graders at public elementary schools and special needs schools in Nagoya City during July.

Details are as follows.

1. Background of the Initiative

As companies involved in transportation rooted in the community, Meitetsu and Aichi Toyota wanted to create an opportunity for children to learn about preventing traffic accidents and the safe use of public transportation. In collaboration with "Nagoya Grampus" and "Chunichi Dragons," whom both companies support, this project was launched.

2. Overview of the "Traffic Safety Book"

"Let's Learn Traffic Safety with Grampus-kun and Doala"

(2) Content

The content allows first-graders, "Tetsuo-san" and "Mei-san," to learn traffic safety rules and precautions on their way from home to watch a soccer or baseball game.

The booklet features "Grampus-kun," the mascot character of Nagoya Grampus, and "Doala," the official mascot of the Chunichi Dragons.

3. Distribution of the "Traffic Safety Book"

In cooperation with the Nagoya City Board of Education, this booklet will be distributed to first-graders at public elementary schools and special needs schools in Nagoya City during July.

Additionally, starting July 1st, distribution is planned at each Aichi Toyota store and at the Meitetsu Nagoya Station Service Center.

4. "Traffic Safety Class" Hosted by Aichi Prefectural Police

As part of the Summer Traffic Safety Prefectural Campaign (July 11th to July 20th), the Aichi Prefectural Police will host a "Traffic Safety Class" at an elementary school in Minami Ward, Nagoya City, utilizing this booklet. In the "Traffic Safety Class," the Aichi Prefectural Police will explain traffic safety rules to first and second-graders based on this booklet.

Prior to this class, a presentation ceremony will be held where Aichi Toyota and Meitetsu Corporation will present the booklet to the students.
