Lisa Larson
Born on September 9, 1931, in southern Sweden. After studying at the School of Design and Crafts at the University of Gothenburg, she was invited by Stig Lindberg, art director of the Swedish ceramic manufacturer Gustavsberg, to join the company. She became a central designer supporting the company's golden age. In 1952, she married the painter Gunnar Larson. She became a freelance artist in 1980 and subsequently worked with numerous clients. Her collaboration with Tonkachi Co., Ltd. (Japan), which began in the 2000s, triggered a worldwide resurgence in her popularity. In 2022, she was awarded a medal by the Swedish government for her outstanding, long-standing contributions to renewing and enriching Swedish art and craft. She passed away on March 11, 2024.
