The T-NEXT Division, the digital department of Tonichi Printing Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Koto-ku, Tokyo; President: Mitsuaki Nishikawa; hereinafter referred to as TONICHI), has welcomed two internship students from the Indian Institutes of Technology (hereinafter referred to as IIT) for the second consecutive year. The interns have started a two-month training program under the guidance of senior engineers who graduated from IIT.

This internship program is made possible through collaboration with Willings Co., Ltd., which operates GALK, an IIT student recruitment support service. IIT has campuses across India, and Willings has established bases and relationships with many of them. Willings assists Japanese companies in recruitment activities that would be difficult to conduct independently. Through Willings, TONICHI has commenced its ninth internship intake in total.

With many Japanese companies currently facing severe management challenges due to IT and engineering talent shortages, TONICHI is strengthening its new application development business. IIT graduates are already engaged in developing products, including "Nexta Meishi," a corporate business card management system. To address challenges in global recruitment such as early departures and mismatches, TONICHI relies on a system where most of its current engineers were hired after completing internships. Last year, TONICHI extended job offers to three out of four interns. This structure, which allows the company to evaluate students' suitability and development skills while allowing students to assess the working environment, has achieved smooth recruitment and a high retention rate.

IIT is a prestigious global engineering institution known for producing executives at top IT companies like Amazon and Google. Despite fierce global competition for these talents, TONICHI's digital division, a new entrant in the field, is being selected as a workplace. In addition to the reassurance of having senior IIT alumni at the firm, the company builds mutual trust in a short period by organizing company-wide welcoming events.
