Iori Seisakusho x Tomoyasu Seisakusho Launch Collaboratively Developed Original Trowels

Tomoyasu Seisakusho Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Yao City, Osaka Prefecture; President and CEO: Akinori Tomoyasu, hereinafter "the Company"), which sells interior, exterior, and DIY materials, has launched 7 types of original trowels jointly developed with Iori Seisakusho Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Miki City, Hyogo Prefecture; Representative Director: Mitsuhiro Iori), a long-established trowel manufacturer in Miki City, Hyogo Prefecture. The series was developed over 2 years based on the patented and utility model technologies held by Iori Seisakusho, with numerous features designed to allow even DIY beginners to achieve beautiful finishes. Notably, the special order model "resistant to trowel burn" is available at an affordable price, about one-third that of overseas products. The lineup consists of 7 types designed to support the unsteady hands of general users trying wall painting for the first time.

Delivering Professional Quality to DIY Users

The Company offers a wide range of DIY interior materials for general consumers, enabling anyone to easily update their homes. Among these, for DIY wall painting, which is often considered a high hurdle, we aimed to create "easy-to-handle plastering trowels for beginners that prevent mistakes" and jointly developed them with Iori Seisakusho, a long-established trowel manufacturer in Banshu Miki (Hyogo Prefecture) supported by professional craftsmen.

Iori Seisakusho's trowels incorporate patented and utility model technologies and innovations designed to naturally prevent streaks (application marks) during application, such as their unique rounding and bending processes, the exquisite "flex" of the blade for uniform material spreading, and their proprietary "Tough Bond Adhesive" that prevents handles from detaching even when cleaned with organic solvents.

In this 2-year joint development project, based on Iori Seisakusho's high technical capabilities, craftsmen from our company and collaborating paint manufacturers repeatedly conducted field tests using prototypes. Reflecting the real feedback obtained, we improved the shape and size of the handles to reduce hand shake and fatigue, providing beginners with a high degree of grip and stability.

Furthermore, in terms of design, we adopted the original color "Navy Blue," which breaks away from the conventional image of plastering tools, and added the "TOMOYASU WORKS" logo. The plastering trowel series is complete, combining reliable professional-grade functionality with a user-friendly appeal that makes it easy for general users to pick up.

"Trowel Burn Resistant Trowel" Achieved at About One-Third the Price of Overseas Products

The "Trowel Burn Resistant Rounded Corner Trowel 225 Thickness 0.5" in this series is a model that suppresses the "trowel burn phenomenon," where the wall darkens and becomes dull during application. Traditionally, trowel burn was typically managed by the craftsman's skill, and even stainless steel trowels with functions to suppress trowel burn were mainly expensive overseas products (around \20,000), posing a barrier for DIY beginners.

In this project, based on Iori Seisakusho's unique "trowel burn resistant" technology, which had not yet been commercialized, we produced it as a special order model for our company. By leveraging the advantages of domestic production and establishing an efficient production system, we achieved an affordable price point of \5,962 (tax included), about one-third that of overseas products.
