Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu (General Manager: Shingo Yagi, Minatomirai, Nishi-ku, Yokohama) will host a two-day Hawaiian-themed event, 'YOKOHAMA BAYSIDE HAWAIIAN 2026,' on Saturday, August 8 and Sunday, August 9, 2026, to celebrate its 29th anniversary, which falls on August 7.
Symbolized by the historical fact that the first Hawaiian immigrants departed from Yokohama Port in 1885, Yokohama and Hawaii share deep historical ties. Over the years, cultural exchanges have flourished, particularly in the Minatomirai area, which combines resort-like ambiance with urban convenience. Each year, diverse events celebrating Hawaiian culture are held here and have become beloved by the public.
This event marks its second consecutive year, expanding from one to two days to welcome more guests. The theme is 'A Hawaiian Journey Without Leaving Yokohama,' offering a free-entry experience where visitors can enjoy the charm of Hawaiian culture during a casual trip to Minatomirai. The event will feature hula shows, Hawaiian merchandise sales, hands-on workshops, and displays of Hawaiian quilts, creating an immersive Hawaiian atmosphere right in Minatomirai.
Guests can enjoy Hawaiian cuisine prepared by the hotel’s chefs in a food stall format. Drinks such as Kona Beer and tropical juices will also be available.
Don’t miss this unique 'Hawaiian time' experience at Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu.
