Rebranded Opening of JAM Fukui Katsuyama Tokyu Hotel & Resorts
Tokyu Hotels & Resorts Co., Ltd. (Shibuya, Tokyo; President: Takashi Takei) is pleased to announce the rebranded opening of 'JAM Fukui Katsuyama Tokyu Hotel & Resorts' in Katsuyama City, Fukui Prefecture, under the 'Tokyu Resort Hotel' brand on April 1, 2026.
JAM Fukui Katsuyama Tokyu Hotel & Resorts has opened as the official hotel of JAM Fukui Katsuyama Mountain Resort, a plateau resort where guests can enjoy nature throughout the four seasons. The resort is a year-round mountain destination. During the green season, it offers activities on lush highlands, a BBQ area that requires no preparation, and shops featuring Fukui souvenirs and outdoor apparel. In the winter season, it transforms into one of Western Japan's largest ski resorts, boasting 16 courses with a maximum skiing distance of 5,800 meters.
The resort's concept is 'Journey to the Amazing Moment (JAM).' The stay is themed around nine 'Amazing Moments':
1. Local Culture: Connecting with the community, culture, and people. 2. Commons: Gathering around a fire and sharing stories. 3. Mountain: Listening to the voice of the mountains. 4. Snow: Finding peace in a world of silver. 5. Onsen: Healing in waters gifted by the mountain. 6. Sunset: Being captivated by the sun setting over breathtaking vistas. 7. Night: Contemplating the ancient Earth under a starry sky. 8. Morning: Feeling fulfilled in the sparkling morning sun. 9. Food: Tasting the flavors of the mountain, sea, and local culture.
These nine themes were established as 'unshakeable pillars' to consistently convey the charm of JAM. The staff identified values they hold dear—such as snow, mountains, and hot springs—and categorized them. The number nine originates from the Kuzuryu River (Nine-Headed Dragon River), which flows through Katsuyama to the Sea of Japan, symbolizing the staff's desire to cherish ties with the local community.
